Student Researcher

School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences

I am currently a senior undergraduate student at Arizona State University, majoring in Biology with a concentration in Pharmacology and Toxicology. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue further education through either a Physician Assistant (PA) program or by continuing research in a laboratory setting. My research experience includes participating in a course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) in a cell biology lab during the Spring 2025 semester. As an undergraduate researcher, I conducted cell biology assays to investigate the function of an uncharacterized yeast gene YML096W, and presented my findings in a scientific poster session to faculty and peers.

Research Interests

This summer, I am excited to join Dr. Cramer’s lab to study water acidity and its effects on the fragility of shells and rocks. Growing up in Oahu, Hawai‘i, the ocean and marine life have always been a central part of my life, shaping my deep appreciation for the natural world. This research opportunity allows me to explore issues related to marine conservation while contributing to a field that holds personal significance. I look forward to gaining hands-on experience and deepening my understanding of how environmental changes impact marine ecosystems.
