I'm Evan Hopps, a graduate student at ASU in Environmental Resource Management. In addition to my work in the Integrated Marine Ecology Lab, I have worked with Dr. Ball for roughly 2 two years studying Antarctic and Sonoran Soil Ecology. I have also spent time working with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to promote public safety in field and recreational activities, and worked with the Desert Botanical Garden educating the public on local ecology.
With Dr. Cramer, I deep-cleaned data collected over the course of two years in order to create a usable dataset for further research and analysis. I used this data to map and interpret the influence of substrate friability on intertidal community compositions, the results of which I presented at the NCUIRE symposium.
I aim to continue research on ecology in the future, focusing on soils, hydrology, and invasive species.
